The sale last week of five franchises for the Women’s Premier League delivered historic numbers. As too did the media rights auction earlier in the month. The BCCI has now invited bids from interested entities to for the WPL's title sponsorship rights.  Bids have been invited from both Indian and overseas entities.

MUMBAI: Yet another revenue landmark for Indian cricket was registered Wednesday after the sale of five franchises that will make up the first season of the Women's Premier League (NOT Women's Indian Premier league) raked in a combined Rs 4669.99 crore. For perspective, this is a higher number than the BCCI got from the sale of eight teams when the Indian Premier League was launched in 2008.

India was scheduled to host the mixed team championship in 2023, but the BWF awarded the rights to Suzhou, China, while giving the 2026 World Championships to India.

MUMBAI: The BCCI on Monday announced that Viacom18 have bagged the media rights for the inaugural five-year cycle of the upcoming Women's Indian Premier League.  The BCCI confirmed that the Reliance India Ltd-controlled network was the successful bidder for the consolidated bid for the media rights (i.e., global televisions rights and global digital rights).

NEW DELHI: The executive committee of the All India Football Federation has decided to withdraw its bid to host the AFC Asian Cup 2027.  As per the strategic Roadmap of the federation, which will be announced later this month, the AIFF management thinks the hosting of big events doesn’t fit into the federation’s strategic priorities.
