NEW DELHI: This is surprising, but also makes eminent sense when looked at under a broader lens. At a time when COVID cases in India are seeing an upswing, the Board of Control for Cricket in India is reportedly moving away from the current presumption that the Indian Premier League would be played out between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, and instead exploring the option of playing the IPL across four to five cities.
While the logistical part will need further discussion, the idea has been floated and is reportedly being discussed by the senior officials of the board.
