FIFA announces new CEO of Women’s World Cup 2023

ZURICH: FIFA has announced the appointment of the new chief executive officer for the Women’s World Cup 2023 in Australia and New Zealand.

With just over two years to go until the tournament kicks off, former Ironman and Sportfive executive David Beeche has been appointed as the new CEO of the Women’s World Cup 2023 in Australia and New Zealand from 14 June this year and will lead the overall delivery of the tournament, together with the chief operating officers, Jane Fernandez and Jane Patterson.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has appointed Hemang Amin, chief operating officer of the Indian Premier league, as interim chief executive officer (CEO) in place of Rahul Johri, whose long pending resignation the BCCI finally accepted last week.  Johri was appointed as BCCI CEO in 2016 after the the board mandated head hunting firm Korn Ferry to help in the search for its first-ever CEO.

Sport Australia appoints Robert Dalton as acting CEO
MELBOURNE: The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) Board has appointed Robert Dalton as acting CEO of Sport Australia for the coming months, replacing Kate Palmer who has departed the role.   Dalton commenced in the role on Monday. Palmer, who had been in the role since 2017, announced her resignation last October, choosing not to apply for an extension to her contract, which expired on January 31.

USGA’s Sarah Hirshland named CEO of US Olympic Committee
COLORADO:  The United States Olympic Committee (USOC) on Thursday announced the appointment of Sarah Hirshland as its 12th CEO. Hirshland is presenting serving as the chief commercial officer of the United States Golf Association (USGA). She will be replacing Susanne Lyons for the top job. Lyons was the acting CEO since February this year.
