KOCHI: As Hero Indian Super League (ISL) enters its sixth season, the fans from the city of Hyderabad will have a club of their own to cheer for.

Hyderabad, a city that boasts of a strong football culture, will soon see its own team making its debut in the upcoming ISL season.

Vijay Madduri and Varun Tripuraneni, former CEO of ISL franchise Kerala Blasters, are the new owners of the Hyderabad ISL club, which will play as Hyderabad Football Club (Hyderabad FC), replacing the now defunct FC Pune City.

MUMBAI: The former CEO of Kerala Blasters, Varun Tripuraneni, is reportedly the prime mover behind the new management and ownership that will run the affairs of the  struggling Indian Super League franchise FC Pune City, which will also be shifting base to Hyderabad under a new name.

PUNE: The owners of FC Pune City have quashed reports that the club is closing its operations, declaring on Monday that the Indian Super League club is in fact relocating to a different city. In a statement released by the Stallions, the club has promised to meet its financial obligations towards its contracted players without delay.

PUNE: Indian Super League franchise FC Pune City have removed Miguel Angel Portugal as its head coach after the team’s flop show in the first three matches of the 2018-19 edition. Portugal was named for the top job prior to the start of the season. As a result, Pradyum Reddy, the technical director of the team, will take over as the interim coach until further notice.
