KOLKATA: Argentine soccer legend Diego Armando Maradona arrived here Sunday to kick off a football conclave.

According to local media reports, the football icon will take part in a charity soccer match against former Indian cricket team captain, Sourav Ganguly.

Maradona, who helped Argentina lift the World Cup in 1968, is on a three-day visit to India and was welcomed with loud chants of "Diego, Diego" at Kolkata's Netaji Subhash International airport. The soccer legend, sporting a navy-blue T-shirt and a military cap, blew kisses at the crowd in reply.
