match fees

MUMBAI: In a long awaited and welcome development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India Monday announced an increase in the match fees for players across all age groups in men’s and women’s cricket.

At the same time, the board announced they will compensate domestic players who suffered financially after last season’s Ranji Trophy and women’s T20 games were curtailed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The cricketers who participated in the 2019-20 season will be getting 50% match fees as compensation for the 2020-21 season.

NEW DELHI: Team India will reportedly be donating their entire match fees earned for the third Test at Trent Bridge for Kerala flood relief.  While the amount is yet to be ascertained, PTI said the figure could be in the region of "Rs 20 million or more" while ABP News gave it as Rs 12.6 million.

MUMBAI: Ranji Trophy players have not received match fees ranging from Rs 1.2-1.5 million per season for the last two years because the Committee of Administrators (CoA) running the BCCI and some state units cannot see eye-to-eye on implementing reforms suggested by the Supreme Court. A new payment plan being worked on by the CoA is also reason for the delay, the Indian Express reports.
