MANCHESTER: City Football Group (CFG), owner of English Premier League side Manchester City, has confirmed the purchase of third-tier Chinese football team Sichuan Jiuniu, in partnership with UBTECH and China Sports Capital.
The acquisition makes the Chengdu, Sichuan Province-based outfit the seventh club in the global CFG portfolio.
For the record, CFG is a holding company that administers association football clubs under the ownership of Abu Dhabi United Group. It is part-owned by Chinese firms China Media Capital and CITIC Capital.
