T20 Global League

MUMBAI: Cricket South Africa (CSA) may have kicked off the Mzansi Super League (MSL T20) last month in style, but their celebrations are not likely to last long. ESPNcricinfo reports that Mumbai-based Indian businessman Hiren Bhanu is all set to sue the cricket board for more than $500,000 in court over the abandoning of the T20 Global League (GLT20), which was replaced by the MSL this season.

JOHANNESBURG: After months of controversy and much deliberation, Cricket South Africa (CSA) has finalized a new domestic T20 competition from 9 November to 16 December this year. The board members’ council voted unanimously in favour for it.

LAHORE: Cricket South Africa’s (CSA) move of launching a T20 league co-owned by SuperSport as a replacement of the now-scrapped T20 Global League has drawn the ire of a GLT20 franchise - Durban Qalandars.  ESPNCricinfo reports that the owners are planning to take the board to court, accusing it of violating the franchise rights agreement between them.

MUMBAI: After former Cricket South Africa CEO Haroon Lorgat's efforts to launch a franchise based T20 league in the Rainbow Nation came a cropper, and ultimately forced his resignation, CSA is now reportedly looking to take Indian expertise on board to ensure that there are no snafus next time round.
