Pro Volleyball League 'dead in water' as VFI loses compensation suit

MUMBAI: In an award delivered by sole arbitrator, Justice K. Kannan (Retd.,) set up on the orders of the Madras High Court, on Baseline Ventures (India) Pvt Ltd’s claim against the termination of their agreement for the Pro Volleyball League by the Volleyball Federation of India in 2019, VFI have been ordered to pay Rs 40 million as compensation and Rs 500,000 in legal fees.

For the record, VFI terminated the commercial rights agreement that Baseline had for the PVL on 18th November 2019.

Baseline: No irregularity in PVL accounting, arbitrator rules

PVL finals to feature all-star women’s match

PVL firms up launch date, host venues
MUMBAI: The long in the pipeline Pro Volleyball League (PVL) finally has a launch date and hosting venues. PVL will tip off on February 2, 2019 and will be played in Kochi and Chennai, with the latter hosting the final, league CEO Joy Bhattacharjya told Sportstar.
