Improved infrastructure to be enduring legacy of U-17 WC: Ceppi

NEW DELHI: Top-class infrastructure will be the biggest legacy the FIFA U-17 World Cup will leave behind in India, The Local Organising Committee’s tournament director Javier Ceppi said here Tuesday.

“Infrastructure is going to be the biggest legacy of the World Cup, you have seen how things have been,” Ceppi told PTI three days ahead the start of the tournament.

Ceppi assured that India is 100 per cent ready to host the tournament.

“We are in a very good position at the moment as far as preparation is concerned. Everything has been put in place,” he said.

U-17 WC: AIFF raises Rs400m from 3 ntl sponsors
NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation has managed to raise just under Rs400 million as national sponsorship monies from three corporates for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup.  Bank of Baroda, Coal India, Hero are the three national sponsors for the tournament.

U17 World Cup ticket window opens at Fatorda stadium
PANAJI: Physical sale of tickets for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, to be hosted by India, started Thursday in Goa with launch of the Box Office near the Sports Authority of Goa Indoor Stadium in Fatorda. Goans can now buy tickets from the counters which will be open from 10 am to 5 pm, a media release said.
