Runner groups from across India join Sunfeast India Run As One

MUMBAI: With the initiation of the Sunfeast India Run As One, a citizen-led movement in support of livelihoods due to the COVID 19 pandemic, runner groups from across the country have united to make their run count, for a larger good, because #LivelihoodsMatter.

Across metros, mini-metros and towns of India, there are working athletes, who despite being extremely successful in their careers or setting up huge businesses, have dedicated their early mornings and weekends to lead their run groups to focus on fitness and lead a healthy life. This has had a lasting impact on their families too, right from eating healthy to change in lifestyle to overall emotional and mental physical well being!

Some of the biggest and most prestigious run clubs in the country have lent their voice and support to the movement. Over eight run clubs including Hyderabad Runners, Jayanagar Jaguars, RunXtreme-Delhi, Chennai Runners, Mumbai Road Runners, Soles Of Cochin, Coimbatore Runners, Super Sikh Runners and North Kolkata Runners have come forward.

“Chennai Runners is happy to associate itself with Procam International for Sunfeast India Run as One. Chennai Runners has always believed that through running one should be able to do larger good for the society. At this critical juncture, in the most uncertain times, we are happy to do our bit to support the migrant workers”, said Dr. Lakshmi Sundar, President, Chennai Runners.

“North Kolkata Runners are proud to be associated with Procam International for Sunfeast India Run As One. NKR is noted for its philanthropy and as the country is in middle of a battle with COVID 19, we are delighted to support the migrant labourers/workers, because livelihood matters”, said Rahul Gupta, Admin, North Kolkata Runners.

“The loss of livelihoods due to the COVID 19 pandemic in India and the world has been unprecedented. We have all seen heart-rending pictures of migrant daily wage earners walking hundreds of miles to reach their homes. At this time, every small step in the right direction can make a difference. Sunfeast India Run as One is a revolution. It is said that a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. With every kilometre one covers, he or she will be helping in restoring normalcy in the lives of those who've been hit hard by the pandemic, which is hugely gratifying. Even non-runners can get involved and do their bit - that is the best part about this initiative”, said Sagarika Melkote, Hyderabad Runners.

From 12th – 30th September, participants can continue to contribute in support of livelihoods.  At Rs 100, participants will receive a specially designed e-certificate, autographed by youth icon Tiger Shroff and marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge and a participation e-bib. Furthermore, in addition to the e-certificate and e-bib; participants registering at Rs 600 and Rs 2500 will get an opportunity to own exclusive event memorabilia; a personalized framed certificate and a uniquely designed Commemorative Lapel pin respectively.

Since it’s launch, Sunfeast India Run As One’ has already raised over INR 1.20 crores. The registrations for the initiative will be open until 30th September 2020. For more details log on to: sunfeastindiarunasone.procam.in
