HYDERABAD: The government of Andhra Pradesh has allocated two acres of land to badminton star PV Sindhu to set up a badminton academy near Visakhapatnam.

The government order (GO) was issued on Thursday allocating two acres of land located at Chingadili village in Visakhapatnam rural mandal to set up P Venkata Sindhu Badminton Academy and Sports School for promoting sports in the public interest.

MUMBAI: India's motorsports capital Coimbatore, famous for its the extremely well maintained Kari Motor Speedway (KMS), could in due course have competition from a village in Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur district.  A 3.4 km Formula 3 circuit racing track is coming up at Kotapalli that has the backing of state chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, The Hindu reports.

MUMBAI: Andhra Pradesh has imposed a blanket ban on online gambling, targeting direct restrictions on online poker and rummy services. Perni Venkataramaiah, the state’s Minister of Transport, Information and PR, confirmed the news, stating that the Council of Ministers had agreed to amend the state’s 1974 Gaming Act to implement the ban.

NEW DELHI: The Chandrababu Naidu-led government in the state of Andhra Pradesh has begun the process of building a specialized, world-class sports city within the city of Amaravati, ANI reports. The aim of this initiative is to host India's first-ever Olympic Games. The first phase of the project should be completed by 2021.
