The Delhi High Court has appointed Justice P Krishna Bhat, former judge of the Karnataka High Court, as administrator of the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) to conduct elections in the faction-ridden national body “at the earliest”. 

The appointment is effective immediately, and the administrator will continue to function until a newly-elected body takes charge of BFI. Until then, the administrator will manage BFI affairs with the assistance and cooperation of the Government of India, Sports Ministry and BFI.

MIES (Switzerland): FIBA announced Monday that the FIBA 3x3 Olympic qualifying tournament will be staged in India in March 2020. The event, which will feature 40 teams (20 in each gender), will be under the auspices of the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) and will be organised by FIBA in collaboration with YKBK Enterprise Pvt Ltd at a location to be announced at a later stage.

BENGALURU: The Basketball Federation of India has announced the dates for the Indian School and College Basketball Leagues (ISBL and ICBL).  ISBL will be held between 25th December and 15th March 2018 and ICBL will be held from 18th April to 31st July 2018 in each participating states.
