The Foxtel Group has extended its exclusive broadcast rights in Australia of the TATA Indian Premier League until at least 2027.

The renewed five-year deal will see 74 matches made available to its 4.6 million subscribers each season across Foxtel and Kayo Sports.

The IPL – which started its 2023 season last weekend – is the world's richest annual cricket tournament, attracting the best international short-format players, including Australia’s top stars such as David Warner, Glenn Maxwell and Josh Hazelwood.

LONDON: W Series has signed new broadcast deals to bring racing coverage to more than 30 territories across Asia and Africa ahead of the season-opener at Hockenheim, Germany, on May 4. Fox Sports Asia will broadcast all W Series races on pay-tv channels across 16 territories in Asia, including China, South Korea, Indonesia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Singapore.

MUMBAI: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thursday announced that Sony Pictures Networks India has been awarded the broadcast rights in India and the Indian Subcontinent for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, as well as the Winter Youth Olympic Games Lausanne 2020. SPN will provide comprehensive coverage of the two mega events across its broadcast and digital platforms. Financial terms were not disclosed.

OTTAWA: Asian Television Network (ATN) has acquired Canada territory broadcast rights for the ongoing fifth season of the Hero Indian Super League.  The Canadian broadcasting company, serving the South Asian communities in in the North American nation, is telecasting the ISL on 5 of its network stations - CBN, ATN Cricket Plus, ATN Life, ATN Punjabi Plus, and ATN Bangla.

MELBOURNE: Cricket Australia Friday sealed a new six-year broadcast and digital agreement worth A$1.182 billion ($920 million) that also broke Channel Nine's four-decade stranglehold of CA television rights. The new agreement signed with Fox Sports and Seven West Media is an increase on the current rights value where CA receives up to A$600 million from its existing five-year deal.
