MUMBAI: Abu Dhabi-owned Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly considering a landmark visit to India ahead of the 2023-24 season kick-off.

India has never been a pre-season destination for the big European clubs because the football ecosystem here simply does not have the financial bandwidth to justify the huge costs involved in getting big-league sides over for such tours.

PALERMO, Italy: City Football Group, parent company of Premier League champions Manchester City FC, has added Italian club Palermo FC to the list of soccer clubs it owns across the world.  As per media reports, CFG, which had been in advanced talks with the Serie B outfit about becoming the 11th club in their portfolio, has acquired an 80 per cent stake in the Sicilian team for €12-€13 million.

The automaker was City Football Group’s first multi-club partner, becoming the Official Automotive Partner of the group and its football teams Manchester City, New York City FC and Melbourne City FC in 2014.

MUMBAI:  Indian Super League champions Mumbai City have announced that Sergio Lobera will be stepping down as Head Coach to continue his coaching journey with City Football Group (CFG). The Club’s new Head Coach will be Des Buckingham, who joins from CFG-owned A-League Champions Melbourne City FC. Des joins the Islanders ahead of the 2021-22 season on a two-year contract.
