MUMBAI: The Ghana Sports Ministry will fly 300 fans to India to support the national U-17 team, the Black Starlets of Ghana, ahead of the FIFA U17 World Cup which begins this Friday. The airlifting of the supporters to India will be funded with financial support from the private sector.

NEW DELHI: After years of stalling, the Delhi Soccer Association (DSA) on Monday announced general body elections on November 19. The DSA held its managing committee meeting on Monday and, among other things, declared the date for the elections. The DSA also extended the date for various clubs to get registered under the Societies Act to become legal entities to October 22.

NEW DELHI: Top-class infrastructure will be the biggest legacy the FIFA U-17 World Cup will leave behind in India, The Local Organising Committee’s tournament director Javier Ceppi said here Tuesday. “Infrastructure is going to be the biggest legacy of the World Cup, you have seen how things have been,” Ceppi told PTI three days ahead the start of the tournament.

NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation has managed to raise just under Rs400 million as national sponsorship monies from three corporates for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup.  Bank of Baroda, Coal India, Hero are the three national sponsors for the tournament.
