NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation's new executive council has set itself a goal of increasing its annual budget of Rs 110-odd crores ten-fold over the next four years.

AIFF Secretary General Shaji Prabhakaran made this ambitious assertion Thursday in an interview to PTI. 

Prabhakaran told the newswire: “Today we have a budget of Rs 110 crore. We cannot do anything with this. We cannot even do justice to our own competitions, forget international exposure, grassroots development, capacity building, supporting member associations etc.

NEW DELHI: FIFA's head of women's football development Arijana Demirovic inaugurated the U-17 Women's World Cup legacy initiative, referee education scholarship programme on Saturday.  Demirovic was accompanied by 32 female participants and All India Football Federation secretary general Shaji Prabhakaran. The tournament is set to be held in the country from the 11th of October to the 30th of October.

NEW DELHI: The inaugural Delhi Premier League will commence at the Ambedkar Stadium on Friday. The league will be played in a double round-robin format with all 11 teams playing 20 matches each. A total of 110 matches will be played over two+ months. The tournament will carry a prize money of Rs 7 lakh. All the matches will be held at two venues - Ambedkar Stadium and Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
