75 Khelo India centres to be opened across Uttar Pradesh

NEW DELHI: The Union Sports Ministry has dedicated a total of 75 Khelo India Centres (KICs) to the state of Uttar Pradesh across 75 districts.

These centres will be entrusted with one sports discipline each as per the proposal of the UP state government. It was also decided that the sports disciplines recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports shall be eligible for Khelo India Centres.

UP govt readies plan to host National Youth Games
LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association (UPOA) proposes to conduct the first-ever National Youth Games in November-December 2019. If the plan goes through, it would also be the first big multi-discipline sporting event in UP since Independence.  The state government has asked its nodal agency - Uttar Pradesh Sports Directorate - to prepare a plan in this connection, Hindustan Times reports.
