MUMBAI: Former Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor claimed on Monday he was approached by bookies in India to get involved in spot-fixing and was later blackmailed by them with threats of leaking a cocaine snorting video. 

Even as he is set to face a ban as per the anti-corruption code because of the four-month time he took to inform the ICC about the approach, Taylor on Monday took to Twitter to assert that even though the incident left him in a ‘dark place’, he did not get involved in any form of match-fixing.

DUBAI: Zimbabwe and Nepal have been readmitted as ICC members following the conclusion of the ICC board meetings here Monday. Zimbabwe was readmitted by the ICC board following a meeting with the ICC chairman and chief executive, Zimbabwe Cricket chairman Tavengwa Mukuhlani and Zimbabwe Sports Minister Kirsty Coventry and Gerald Mlotshwa, chairman of the Sports and Recreation Commission.

HARARE: Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC), which has been suspended by the International Cricket Council (ICC), announced Saturday that the national team will not travel to Bangladesh for the triangular series including Afghanistan in September.

NEW DELHI:  The suspension of Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) by the ICC has possibly opened up a window for the Indian cricket board as the BCCI is scheduled to host the southern African team for a Twenty20 series in January next year. India are scheduled to play three T20s against the Zimbaweans - in Guwahati on January 5, Indore on January 7 and Pune on January 10.

MUMBAI: Zimbabwe's tour of India in March is in doubt after the announcement of dates for IPL 2019. The latest season of Indian Premier League has been pushed ahead of its regular window in April-May due to the impending general elections in the country. The league is proposed to start from March 23 this year.
