Hero World Challenge

Tiger Woods has announced that he will not be playing in next month's Hero World Challenge, for which he is also the host, due to an issue with his right foot.

The golf great won the event, which takes place in the Bahamas from 1-4 December, and serves as a benefit for his TGR Foundation and other charities, five times between 2001 and 2011.

He said on Monday he had developed plantar fasciitis - pain in the base of his foot.

NEW DELHI: The Hero World Challenge, hosted by Tiger Woods, is scheduled to return to Albany, Bahamas after a one-year hiatus forced by the coronavuirus pandemic.  The field for the upcoming edition, which is to take place from December 2-5, will feature the top 20 ranked available players and carry $3.5 million in prize money.

ALBANY, Bahamas: The Hero World Challenge golf tournament has been cancelled due to travel restrictions imposed amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The 18-player event, hosted by golf superstar Tiger Woods, was scheduled to take place from December 3 to 6 at Albany, Bahamas.
