The International Olympic Committee Friday launched the Olympic AI Agenda. The initiative was introduced during an interactive event held at Lee Valley VeloPark at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, home of the Olympic and Paralympic Games London 2012.

The Olympic AI Agenda is the third in a trilogy of strategy documents launched under the leadership of IOC president Thomas Bach. It follows Olympic Agenda 2020, launched in December 2014, and Olympic Agenda 2020+5, launched in March 2021.

Amidst all the (overly optimistic?) talk of cricket getting entry as an Olympic sport as early as the 2028 Games in Los Angeles, the BCCI, the game's global superpower, is not exactly making a great case for the sport's inclusion.  Case in point being the upcoming Asian Games in Hangzhou, at which T20 cricket has been included as a medal-contending discipline for both men's and women's teams.

“A Sparkling Future”, designed by 27-year-old Brazilian Dante Akira Uwai, has been announced as the winner of the  Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Gangwon 2024 medal design competition.  This year’s contest saw a record-breaking 3,000 proposals submitted for the chance to design the obverse of the medals that will be handed out to the best athletes at next year’s YOG.

LAUSANNE: The International Olympic Committee has directed the Indian Olympic Association to appoint a chief executive officer without further delay, and also confirmed that the 140th IOC session will be held in Mumbai in October this year. The IOC formally acknowledged the results of the IOA elections during its executive board meeting here on Wednesday night.
