LONDON: Arsenal have secured a £120-million ($163m) short term loan facilty to help the club's cashflow through the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

"As we continue to work through the implications of the global pandemic on our finances, we can confirm today that the club has met the criteria set by the Bank of England for the Covid Corporate Financing Facility (CCFF)," the Premier League club announced Thursday. 

The loan is repayable by the end of May and is principally designed to help offset the ongoing absence of matchday revenue for the season.

NEW DELHI: Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals on Tuesday announced that the team is reopening its three cricket academies. Delhi Capitals' academy at Ball Park Ground in Gurugram and Bal Bhavan International School in Dwarka will reopen on Wednesday while the academy at Avravali International School in Faridabad will reopen on Thursday.

THE BNP PARIBAS OPEN will not be held March 8-21, 2021 as originally scheduled.  The ATP 1,000 tournament, which was cancelled last year on account of the COVID-19 pandemic, is "proactively working with the ATP and WTA Tours as well as title sponsor BNP Paribas to confirm dates later in the year to hold the event".  Details will be released in the near future as plans are finalized.

MUMBAI: England's tour of South Africa has been called off, Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) jointly announced Tuesday.
