LAUSANNE: Spectators will be allowed at next month's 2021 Men’s World Boxing Championships in Serbia, the International Boxing Association (AIBA) announced on Monday, making it the first major event in the sport to welcome back fans since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

AIBA, in a statement, said that tickets have gone on sale for the October 24 to November 6 showpiece, where India will be represented by a full-strength 13-strong squad featuring Asian medal-winners like Deepak Kumar (51kg), Shiva Thapa (63.5kg) and Sanjeet (92kg).

BIRMINGHAM: The second Test between England and New Zealand at Edgbaston will be the first pilot event within the second phase of the government's world-leading Events Research Programme and have crowds coming in for the June 10-14 encounter. As per a report on edgbaston.com, the stadium will be able to accommodate around 18,000 spectators each day, 70% of total stadium capacity.

LONDON: The World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand in Southampton will be held in the presence of 4000 spectators, Hampshire County Club head Rod Bransgrove has been quoted as having said. The COVID-19 situation has improved in the UK and around 1,500 people were allowed to watch the county game between Leicestershire and Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl, which hosts the WTC final from June 18.

AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) has decided to allow 50% spectators during the India-England T20 International series at the Narendra Modi Stadium here owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. The series, comprising five matches, kicks off with the first game at 7 pm on Friday, and the final fixture slated to be played on March 20.
