PSG Indian Sports Honours 3rd edition to air on Star Sports

MUMBAI: RPSG Indian Sports Honours, an initiative by RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group and Virat Kohli, is back with a digital avatar. The third edition, which was originally scheduled to be held here last year, was postponed due to Covid-19 and now it will  be telecast on 23rd July.

RPSG Indian Sports Honours will honour and appreciate Indian athletes for their undaunted commitment and exceptional sacrifices in the tough times. The ceremony will honour athletes in 17 categories across multiple sports who have shown grit through a period of January – December 2019.

The Star Sports Network continues to be the official broadcast partner for the RPSG Indian Sports Honours driven by Audi and will telecast the entire honours ceremony on 23rd July 2021 exclusively on Star Sports 1, Star Sports 3, Star Sports 1 Hindi and Star Sports First channels and on Disney+ Hotstar from 9:00PM onwards. The repeat telecast will be aired on the same channels on 24th and 25th July 2021, from 9:00PM and 7:00PM onwards respectively.

Top performing athletes have been shortlisted, selected and honoured through ‘11 Jury Honours’ and ‘6 Star Sports Popular Choice Honours’. The ISH Jury members, including eminent leaders and sporting champions like Dr. Sanjiv Goenka, Pullela Gopichand, Abhinav Bindra, Yogeshwar Dutt, Sardar Singh, Mahesh Bhupathi, PT Usha and Anjali Bhagwat will decide the winners of the Jury Honours. 

The nominations in the categories were shortlisted by over 200 journalists from the Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI). The RPSG Indian Sports Honours Jury will select the final honorees from 38 finalists voted upon by Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) members. The Star Sports Popular Choice Honours will be decided through fans voting on Twitter on @sportshonours.

A segment of the ISH is dedicated to the Virat Kohli Foundation. Virat Kohli honours scholarships to the upcoming and deserving athletes through the Athlete Development Program. It reflects Virat’s dream of making India a sporting superpower.

Virat’s ambitions have grown beyond the sports arena into education and healthcare. The foundation is also working towards the welfare of animals pan India.
