The 17th edition of the TATA Indian Premier League opened to blockbuster viewership numbers, with 16.8 crore (168 million) unique viewers tuning in to watch the season’s first game between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on March 22, Disney Star, the tournament’s official broadcaster stated on Thursday.

The broadcaster further asserted that a composite watch-time of 12.76 billion minutes represents the highest ever for the opening day of any IPL season. Watch-time minutes are a compilation of the time spent by each viewer in watching the game.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Asian Football Confederation has renewed its long-standing partnership with sports data company Sportradar that will last through to the AFC Asian Cup China 2023. Under the terms of the agreement, Sportradar will continue to support the AFC Integrity Unit with the Intelligence and Investigation Services (I&I), which has helped combat match-fixing across the region.

LUQUE, Paraguay: CONMEBOL, the governing body of football in South America, has agreed to a new partnership with  sports data provider Stats Perform as its official data provider.  The four-year deal will see Stats Perform exclusively collect and manage data from the most important competitions in Latin America, including Copa CONMEBOL America, CONMEBOL Libertadores, CONMEBOL Sudamericana and CONMEBOL Recopa.
