Dr Wilfried Aulbur is the managing director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India Pvt Ltd since 1 January, 2006. Prior to this appointment, Dr Aulbur was the executive assistant of the head of Mercedes Car Group (2003 to 2005). Dr Aulbur did his undergraduate and graduate studies in Europe and the US. He earned his PhD in Physics from Ohio State University in 1996 and subsequently worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of California and the Ohio State University in the areas of semiconductors, computational material science and solid state physics.

THE NAME of Marc Lammers in Holland is just about as famous as that of Kapil Dev in India. Lammers has been the national head coach of the Dutch women hockey team from 2000 to 2008 and took the Dutch team to Gold medal victory in the Beijing Olympics last year. He has also been the national head coach of Spain women hockey team. As a player, Lammers won five international caps for Holland and played for 16 years in the first division of the Netherlands.

Procam International has been the promoter of SCMM alongwith two other distance running properties - Airtel Delhi Half Marathon and Sunfeast Bangalore 10k Run. Pertinently, all three properties were recently honored with the IAAF Gold Label.

Indian Premier League chairman Lalit Kumar Modi is the man who saw tomorrow. Credited with putting together one of the world's most lucrative sports franchises, the idea of a world class cricket league began germinating as far back as 1994 in Modi's head. By his own admission, Modi began work on an IPL type of league when he partnered ESPN in 1994 to launch the sports channel in the country. Scion of a prominent business family, Modi wanted to see convergence of sports and commerce in the country.
