Hero Women’s Indian Open returns for 17th edition at DLF Golf Club

LADIES EUROPEAN TOUR (LET) returns to India this week for the 17th edition of the Hero Women’s Indian Open, set to take place from 9 October at the DLF Golf and Country Club. The tournament marks the 24th event of the 2025 LET season and features a strong 111-player field representing 31 nationalities.

Hosted on the Gary Player-designed par-72 championship course, the event promises a stern test with its elevation changes and water hazards. This year’s tournament also sees an increased prize fund of USD 500,000 comprising 67 LET players, 34 from the Women’s Golf Association of India, and 10 invitees.

Defending champion Liz Young of England returns to defend her title after a narrow one-stroke win in 2024. She will be joined by 2017 champion Camille Chevalier of France and 2024 LET Order of Merit winner Chiara Tamburlini, who has been in consistent form with nine top-10 finishes this season.

Four winners from the 2025 season, Alice Hewson and Mimi Rhodes (England), Shannon Tan (Singapore), and Sara Kouskova (Czechia), are also in action. With only four events remaining in the season, the race for the top spot on the Order of Merit is intensifying, led by Rhodes, ahead of Tan and Kouskova.

For several players, this week presents a critical opportunity to retain their LET cards, as the next two events feature limited fields.

On the home front, 29 Indian golfers will tee it up, headlined by two-time LET winner Diksha Dagar, alongside Tvesa Malik, Pranavi Urs, and Avani Prashanth, as they aim to make their mark on home soil.
