Broadcast Rights

MUMBAI: Digital sports platform will be exclusively broadcasting the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) for its 40th anniversary season in India. 

The sports car racing series, DTM, is based in Germany, and features top-tier sports car racing action across Europe. Encompassing the entire eight-event series, the partnership will allow Indian fans to catch all the action live on FanCode from 26th April to 20th October. 

India’s racing sensation Arjun Maini will be in action for the Mercedes-AMG team.

Revenues at Viacom18, the media arm of Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), grew by 49% for the 2023-24 financial year on the back of sports and news. The company’s revenues reached Rs 10,826 crore ($1.3 billion) in FY24 as compared to Rs 7,266 crore ($872m) in FY23.  Per the company’s statement, sports was the biggest driver of revenue growth for Viacom18.

The International Cricket Council Friday announced that ICC cricket rights in Sri Lanka up until the end of 2025 have been awarded to MTV Channel (Private) Limited. MTV will exploit the broadcast rights via their free to air channels, TV1, Shakthi TV and Sirasa TV. The digital rights will be exploited via www.sirasatv.lk and by icc.tv enabling more fans to watch ICC world events over the next two years.

LAHORE: The consortium of Tamasha and Trans Group FZE has been awarded live-streaming rights for the home T20I series against New Zealand and also the women’s home series against West Indies which involves five T20Is and three ODIs. In the public bidding process apart from Tamasha and Trans Group FZE, ARY Group, Tower Sports and Tapmad also took part in the process.
