NEW DELHI: Indian Premier League franchise Delhi Capitals Monday announced that GMR Aerocity, the commercial district located next to the Terminal 3 of Delhi Airport, will be an associate sponsor of Delhi Capitals for the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League.
This partnership marks the first time GMR Aerocity is associating with a sports team.
“We are delighted to announce GMR Aerocity as our associate sponsor,” says Delhi Capitals CEO Vinod Bisht. “Delhi’s famed aerocity is synonymous with modernity and captures the city’s cosmopolitan essence. It is a true embodiment of our slogan “Yeh Hai Nayi Dilli”, not only providing the people of Delhi with a world-class commercial hub but also serving as a fitting introduction to those visiting the city. I am confident of a successful partnership and look forward to working together to take our team to greater heights”
Speaking on the occasion, Aman Kapoor, CEO, GMR Airport Land Development (ALD), said: “GMR Aerocity is a sought-after destination by discerning businesses and consumers alike. It is house to some of the leading global business brands, offers an unparalleled mix of cuisines, shopping, hospitality and retail experiences that makes it a unique Business District in the whole country. We are pleased that we have been able to set global benchmarks with the richness of the experience our stakeholders have at GMR Aerocity.”
“Our partnership with Delhi Capitals builds on the vibrancy that GMR Aerocity stands for. Much like the high-energy experiences Delhi Capitals has been entertaining its audiences with, GMR Aerocity stands for the same vibrancy for its visitors and stakeholders seeking richer, innovative and diverse experiences”, he added.
Modelled on the smart city concept, GMR Aerocity consists of a futuristic infrastructure, while offering enhanced recreational, culinary, and retail experiences. Spread over 3 million square metres, it contains premium office spaces, hospitality hubs and an urban environment with safe, open spaces, modern amenities, and multi-nodal connectivity. Designed to ensure low environmental impact, the GMR Aerocity is built on a sustainable model and encourages resource conservation.
