NEW DELHI: Cricket digital collectibles marketplace Rario sold out its second NFT pack drop, further cementing the growing popularity for licensed NFTs among cricket fans across the globe.
The pack named CPL Trail Blazers 2k21, featured iconic cricketing moments from the ongoing season of the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
The drop included a single pack containing one gold and two silver cards. Some of the moments available for purchase as NFTs included Chris Gayle’s unforgettable six off Jason Holder’s bowling in a recent match as well as Akeal Hosein’s acrobatic one-handed catch.
Reservations were opened on 5th September, while the sales commenced on 12th September. To ensure the opportunity to purchase was available to as many people as possible, the sales were limited to one pack per reservation. Despite this, all packs rapidly sold out indicating a genuine demand for cricket NFTs from fans around the world.
“From New Zealand and Australia down under to Indian Subcontinent and a thriving cricket loving community in North America, this sport has a wide global appeal,” says Ankit Wadhwa co-founder and CEO of Rario. “This global audience is raring to explore the world of cricket NFTs, as is evident by the sell out of our second straight pack drop. What is noteworthy is that this happened without any aggressive marketing outreach around the drop, showing that this community consists of passionate cricket fans who are already engaged, active, and eager for more.”
