LONDON: Formula 1 has terminated its contract with the Russian Grand Prix promoter. It means that Russia will no longer have a race in the future.
Last week F1 had announced that it was impossible to hold the Russian Grand Prix, which had been scheduled to be held in Sochi on September 2, in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
F1's original deal to race in Russia was struck in 2014 between President Vladimir Putin and the sport's then-CEO, Bernie Ecclestone. The contract was due to run through 2025.
