NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation has managed to raise just under Rs400 million as national sponsorship monies from three corporates for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Bank of Baroda, Coal India, Hero are the three national sponsors for the tournament.

The amount raised is separate from the what FIFA's global partners have contributed towards the biggest football tournament India has ever hosted.

“The AIFF was very much a part of the process of bringing sponsors on board. We appointed a top agency who could help us market the Under-17 World Cup and attract corporates to invest in this property,” AIFF general secretary Kushal Das told Goal.com.

"The key bit was to get the first deal done. Once that was done, then it was easier to convince others. We have LED boards in every stadium which shall give enough exposure to every sponsor,” Das noted.
