Four months after he left Viacom18 Sports, where he was CEO, Anil Jayaraj has returned to the Reliance Industries Ltd fold, at another media unit of the Indian multinational conglomerate.

Jio Home Digital Services, a subsidiary of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, has appointed Jayaraj as president.

Jayaraj, who will report in to Pankaj Pawar, managing director of Jio, has stepped into a significant leadership role at the Indian telecommunications giant.

During his time at Viacom18, Jayaraj, who has 30 years of diverse experience, played a pivotal role in securing key sports broadcasting rights, including the Indian Premier League (IPL), BCCI media rights, Women’s Premier League (WPL), and the 2024 Paris Olympics. His leadership positioned Viacom18 as a formidable player in the sports media landscape.

Before joining Viacom18, Jayaraj was responsible for ad sales at Disney Star’s Star Sports, where he developed revenue strategies for seven IPL seasons.

Jayaraj has also held senior marketing roles at companies such as Pidilite Industries, BP – Marine & Energy Lubricants, and Castrol.

Jayaraj’s extensive background in sports media and marketing is expected to bolster Jio Home Digital Services as it continues to innovate and expand in the digital space.
