MUMBAI: The Star Sports India Football Forum (IFF) 2018, founded and curated by SportzPower, is set to take place at Novotel Juhu on Friday. With 18 of the leading administrators and managers from the world of football sharing the same platform, discussing insights on strategising for the future of the game in India will reach levels that have never seen before.
In a refreshing development, arguably the biggest football tournament in the country at present, the Indian Super League (ISL) will have adequate representation at the event.
For the first time, the most popular team of the competition, Kerala Blasters will be coming on board as the Official Knowledge Session Partners of the IFF 2018. IQuest Enterprises, the company that owns the Blasters franchise, will have its CEO, Nitin Kukreja delivering a keynote speech and engaging in a panel discussion on creating a viable Indian football ecosystem.
It will be fascinating to see ‘The Lions’ or the Delhi Dynamos co-CEO Ashish Shah elaborating his point of view on the same issue as an esteemed panellist of the event.
Mumbai City FC, the official partners of the IFF 2018, will yet again have its CEO Indranil Das Blah giving a compelling insight on the club’s success of engaging with fans on and off season.
However, the trio will cross paths with La Liga India head Jose Antonio Cachaza, who is the man behind the Spanish league’s expansion in the country through opening the ‘La Liga Football Schools’ in Delhi and Kerala so far. Cachaza is the man responsible for sustaining the league’s partnership with India on Track (IOT) to market the competition in all parts of the country.
His keynote address and panel discussion could determine La Liga’s plans ahead and potential partnerships for the league with the three ISL teams, especially in terms of talent development at the grassroots level amongst the youth.
Recently, La Liga held its first international immersion conference in India which also featured the likes of AIFF President Praful Patel and Reliance Sports and ISL CEO Sundar Raman.
However, AIFF and Reliance will also feature at the IFF 2018, through Kushal Das (general secretary) and G Srinivvasan (marketing and strategy head) respectively.
