The International Olympic Committee Friday launched the Olympic AI Agenda. The initiative was introduced during an interactive event held at Lee Valley VeloPark at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, home of the Olympic and Paralympic Games London 2012.

The Olympic AI Agenda is the third in a trilogy of strategy documents launched under the leadership of IOC president Thomas Bach. It follows Olympic Agenda 2020, launched in December 2014, and Olympic Agenda 2020+5, launched in March 2021.

JAKARTA: Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) President Shaikh Ahmed Al-Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah has said that India will get to host a third Asian Games if the country "shows interest". India hosted the first ever Asian Games in New Delhi in 1951 and then again in 1982. Since then, Commonwealth Games in 2010, remains the only international multi-sport event that India has hosted.

JAKARTA: Kuwait Olympic Committee was welcomed back into the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) at the 37th OCA General Assembly on Sunday. However, Kuwait was warned by the OCA today to stop its "world record" of government interference in sport or face being exiled for a third time.

TOKYO: Japanese Minister Shunichi Suzuki has claimed that hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020 in the country would cost 1.35 trillion Japanese Yen ($121.7 billion), Japan Times reports. The city of Tokyo and the Organizing Committee of the Games will be contributing 600 billion Yen ($54 billion) each while the national government will be granting a subsidy of 150 billion Yen ($1.35 billion).

ZURICH: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced on Tuesday that Visa, one of the world’s top financial services companies will remain in its ‘TOP’ programme of sponsors till 2032. It was in 1986 that Visa was one of the founding members of the programme, becoming its global sponsor in the process as well.

LONDON: UK Sport, the British government-backed sports investment agency has claimed that sporting events have raised more than 130 million GBP ($176 million) since the Olympic and Paralympic Games were conducted in the capital city since in 2012. It has been exactly six years since the marquee sporting competition took place.
