2020 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup

NEW DELHI: All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Praful Patel has confirmed that the local organising committee for the U-17 Women's World Cup 2020 are in discussions with world body FIFA to finalize the new dates for the tournament as well as to maintain the original age criteria of the participating players. 

The tournament was to be held in India in November but has been postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic.

MUMBAI: Acting on expected lines, FIFA on Saturday postponed the U-17 Women's World Cup, which was scheduled to be held in India in November, due to the worsening COVID-19 pandemic. The women's age group showpiece was to be held at five venues in the country from November 2-21.

NEW DELHI: After its successful hosting of the Under-17 World Cup for men last year, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) is now looking at doing an encore on the distaff side. AIFF president Praful Patel met sports secretary Rahul Bhatnagar here on Tuesday to seek the government’s support to host the 2020 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, Indian Express reports.
