NEW DELHI: The inaugural edition of the Hero Futsal Club Championship, being organised by the All India Football Federation - India’s first-ever futsal tournament at a national level - will run from November 5-13 in New Delhi.

16 clubs from across the country who will be participating in the championship have been divided into four groups. Teams in a group will be playing each other in a round robin format with the group winners advancing to the semi-finals.

NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation Monday disqualified Hyderya Sports Kashmir FC, one of the 10 teams slated to play in the Hero I-League qualifiers, after the club was deemed guilty of having produced a fake bank guarantee, one of the criteria for competing in the I-league. The I-League qualifiers are scheduled to be held in Bengaluru from October 4.

In this regard, all interested agencies are requested to send their expressions of interest by or before 6 PM IST on Sunday, September 12.

JAMSHEDPUR: The All India Football Federation will soon ink a formal agreement with the Jharkhand government to aid in the skill enhancement of players in the state, AIFF deputy general secretary Abhishek Yadav told Telegraph India on Wednesday. Yadav was in Jamshedpur to oversee the conduct of the senior women’s national camp for the AFC Women’s Asia Cup scheduled to be held in India early next year.

KOLKATA: The government of West Bengal’s Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and Power Aroop Biswas on Tuesday evening came over to meet and greet the Indian national team who are currently camping in Kolkata for the forthcoming international friendlies against Nepal in September. NEW DELHI: Former All India Football Federation vice-president CR Viswanathan passed away Monday.  He is survived by his wife, daughter, and son. Apart from being the AIFF vice-president (2004-08), Viswanathan was also a member of the AIFF executive committee from 2008 to 2012, and chairman of the AIFF Technical Committee from 2009 to 2012.
