CBI initiates probe against Batra for alleged diversion of HI funds

NEW DELHI: The CBI has registered a preliminary enquiry against Narinder Batra, president of the Indian Olympic Association president as well as International Hockey Federation (FIH). 

The Central probe agency is investigating a complaint that Batra misused all of (emphasis ours) Rs 3.5 million of Hockey India's funds for personal benefits. While it is for the CBI to decide on the veracity of said allegations, there is no getting away from the fact that the figures in question would be "small change" for Batra, who is indeed a very wealthy man.

SAI suspends 4 officials arrested on corruption charges

CBI raids SAI HQ, arrests director, 5 others in graft case
NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Thursday arrested six Sports Authority of India (SAI) officials including its director Sanjay Kumar Sharma under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act. A CBI official told IANS that it had received information about SAI officials in the transport department accepting bribes worth Rs 57000 to clear bills worth Rs 1.9 million.

J&K cricket scam: CBI chargesheets Farooq Abdullah
SRINAGAR: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday filed a chargesheet against National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah and three others for alleged misappropriation of funds at the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association.  According to the CBI chargesheet, huge amounts of money were transferred from the bank accounts of the JKCA into those of its office bearers and other unconnected individuals.
