CWG '26: Women's T20 stays; shooting back; no archery, wrestling

The Commonwealth Games Federation, the Andrews Labor Government and Commonwealth Games Australia Wednesday unveiled the full Sport Program for the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games, featuring 20 sports and 26 disciplines, including nine fully integrated Para sports.

While Coastal Rowing, Golf, and BMX Racing will make a Commonwealth Games debut, 3x3 Basketball, 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball, Shooting, Shooting Para Sport, Mountain Bike Cross Country, Track Cycling and Para Cycling Track have been added.

Pallikal Asian rep on CGF athletes advisory panel
NEW DELHI: Indian squash champion Dipika Pallikal has been appointed by the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) to represent Asia on its athletes advisory commission, Press Trust of India reports. The commission is the body that speaks on behalf of and represent athletes in Commonwealth countries.

Indian CWG contingent in clear after CGF 'reprimand' to team doc
GOLD COAST: Following a hearing by the Commonwealth Games Federation's (CGF) Federation Court, the team doctor of India's boxing squad - Amol Patil - has been handed a "strong written reprimand" in the case involving discovery of syringes near the rooms allotted to players - as reported by insidethegames.biz.

No return of shooting at CWG 2022: CGF chief
MUMBAI: Shooting as a discipline will not be reinstated at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, Commonwealth Games Federation chief executive officer David Grevemberg has confirmed.  Grevemberg issued the clarification in response to queries raised by the editor of Shooting Times.
