MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Networks India has acquired the exclusive media rights to broadcast Davis Cup in India for two years between 2023 and 2024. 

Following the television and digital rights deal, the broadcaster will televise Davis Cup on its sports channels across the Indian subcontinent, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka and will also be available to live-stream on their premium OTT platform, SonyLIV.

MADRID: The International Tennis Federation (ITF) on Monday approved the move to a three-city format from 2021 Davis Cup and as a result, Innsbruck and Turin were confirmed as co-hosts for the finals following successful bids. Each city will host two of the six groups and one quarter-final. Madrid Arena in the Casa de Campo will also host semi-finals and final.

MADRID: The ITF has confirmed it is considering a series of proposals by event partner Kosmos Tennis to enhance the Davis Cup finals following a thorough review of the inaugural event in 2019. Under the proposals, the ITF board has already approved the finals becoming an 11-day event with the 2021 edition set to take place from 25 November to 5 December.

MADRID: The International Tennis Federation and its commercial rights partner Kosmos Tennis have announced the 2020 Davis Cup by Rakuten Madrid Finals has been postponed until 2021 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The Finals will now take place in Madrid in the week commencing 22 November 2021.

NEW DELHI: Rohit Rajpal will continue as India's non-playing Davis Cup captain while veteran Leander Paes, too, has retained his place in the six-member squad picked for the tie against Croatia next month.  India are scheduled to travel to Croatia for their next tie on March 6 and 7.
