The Delhi High Court has appointed Justice P Krishna Bhat, former judge of the Karnataka High Court, as administrator of the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) to conduct elections in the faction-ridden national body “at the earliest”. 

The appointment is effective immediately, and the administrator will continue to function until a newly-elected body takes charge of BFI. Until then, the administrator will manage BFI affairs with the assistance and cooperation of the Government of India, Sports Ministry and BFI.

NEW DELHI: The long awaited elections for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be held on 22 October, Committee of Administrators chief Vinod Rai said Tuesday. The three-member CoA, has run Indian cricket for more than two years now, reached the decision after a meeting here.

NEW DELHI: Ice Hockey Association of India held its annual general assembly and elections for the new executive council here.  IHAI, the governing body of ice hockey in India, is a member of the Indian Olympic Association and International Ice Hockey Federation.   Elections were conducted as per the guidelines of IOA and National Sports Code of the Ministry of Sports in the presence of an IOA observer.

NEW DELHI: Vinod Rai, head of the two-member Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA), has confirmed that the BCCI’s 2018 annual general meeting (AGM) and fresh board elections will be conducted anytime within the next three months.  The development comes close on the heels of the the CoA registering the newly-formed BCCI constitution with the Tamil Nadu Registrar of Societies in Chennai.

NEW DELHI: Rajat Sharma, founder chairman of Hindi news channel India TV, has been elected president of the scandal-ridden Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA), defeating India’s 1983 World Cup winning player Madan Lal by a massive 517 votes. The third candidate in the running was Supreme Court Bar Association president Vikas Singh who got just 232 votes.
