EPL clubs ink agreement to take gambling ads off shirt fronts

The Premier League has reached agreement with the league's 20 clubs to ban "withdraw gambling sponsorship from the front of their matchday shirts".

The decision, annnounced Wednesday, makes Premier League the first sports league in the UK to take such a stand. As per the collective agreement, gambling companies that want to advertise with EPL clubs, will be limited to sponsorship on shirt sleeves.

LONDON: Arsenal Became the first English Premier League side to join hands with an electric vehicle company as it announced a global sponsorship deal with China's electric car maker BYD on Wednesday, according to Chinese media company XinhuaNet.  BYD is the London-based outfit’s second Chinese global sponsor after telecommunications giant Huawei, as their 2-year deal expired this month.

ManU Q1 revenue jumps 17%, b'cast income up 31%
LONDON: Premier League giants Manchester United reported total revenue for the first quarter at £141 million ($186.55 million) – a 17% jump over income for the same period in the previous fiscal.  Net profit for the period stood at £7.9    million, a 558.3 per cent jump over the £1.2 million achieved in the prior year quarter.
