FIBA announces Doha as host of Basketball World Cup 2027

MANILA, The Philippines: The Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) has been awarded the hosting rights for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027, with all games at the prestigious tournament to be played in Qatar's capital Doha.  

In making their decision, FIBA's Central Board were impressed by the bid and particularly the elements around the compact geographical nature, unique flexibility with tournament venue scheduling to better serve the fans, as well as an emphasis on sustainability.

MIES: FIBA on Tuesday unveiled the full schedule for the 7th edition of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour, which will grow from 8 to 10 events, starting with the Saskatoon Masters in Canada on July 21-22 and culminating with the Bloomage Beijing Final in the Chinese capital on October 27-28.
