MANILA, The Philippines: The Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) has been awarded the hosting rights for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027, with all games at the prestigious tournament to be played in Qatar's capital Doha.  

In making their decision, FIBA's Central Board were impressed by the bid and particularly the elements around the compact geographical nature, unique flexibility with tournament venue scheduling to better serve the fans, as well as an emphasis on sustainability.

MIES, Switzerland: FIBA has awarded the hosting rights for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 to Philippines/Japan/Indonesia. This marks the first time in the competition's history that it is to be staged in more than one country. Philippines/Japan/Indonesia and Argentina/Uruguay were the finalists to host the event due to take place in just under six years' time.

BFI BENGALURU: BFI president K Govindaraj has been appointed to the FIBA competitions commission effective as of 1st January 2018.  Govindaraj was appointed after the FIBA executive committee meeting held on 18th November.

MUMBAI: ESPN has been signed on by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) for coverage of basketball to US viewers till 2021. The agreement will see the channel broadcasting all of FIBA's Men's and Women's Continental Cups as well as the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 qualifiers and the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018, say reports.

MIES, Switzerland: The International Basketball Federation and leading sports apparel brand Nike, on Monday announced the signing of an 11-year (2017-2027) commercial agreement covering FIBA's Senior Men's, Women's and Youths' flagship national team competitions.
