2018 Commonwealth Games: India scores its 3rd best ever tally

NEW DELHI: With an overall tally of 66 medals, which includes a grand haul of 26 Gold medals, 20 Silver and 20 Bronze at the Gold Coast XXI Commonwealth Games, the Indian contingent surpassed the tally of 64 with 15 golds achieved at the last edition of the quadrennial event at Glasgow in 2014. 

The 2018 Commonwealth Games also became India’s third best outing ever in the event’s history. Over the entire stretch of the event at the Gold Coast, Indian athletes shattered 11 Games records.

Commonwealth Sports Universities Network launches on CWG eve
GOLD COAST: The Commonwealth Sports Universities Network (CSUN) celebrated its official launch on the Gold Coast, Australia, Tuesday, on the eve of the Opening Ceremony for the XXI Commonwealth Games.  The CGF partnered with Griffith University to debut the network, which aims to create a formal sporting partnership between the CGF and, initially, five foundation universities from across the Commonwealth.

CWG 2018: India in breach of no-needle policy, under CGF medical panel probe

Sports Ministry announces list cleared for CWG Gold Coast
NEW DELHI: The Sports Ministry on Monday cleared a 325-member Indian contingent, including 221 athletes, for the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast next month, but dropped two contingent staff named by the Indian Olympic Association, PTI reports.

Sony starts promotional campaign for CWG
MUMBAI: In the lead-up to the Commonwealth Games 2018, which kicks off in just over a month, India broadcast partner Sony Pictures Sports Network (SPSN) on Monday launched its promotional campaign - 'Rang De Tiranga. Sony has designed a campaign that urges the fans to take notice and cheer on its athletes as they vie to bring home yet another huge tally of medals, an official release states.

IOA raises funds through sponsors for CWG contingent
NEW DELHI: The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) is raising sufficient funds through sponsors to send a contingent to the Gold Coast Commonweatlh Games and won't be talking any support from the Sports Ministry for the same. A report in The Times of India said that the IOA has already tied in a few sponsors, which include one from the financial services sector.
