Bira 91, which lays claim to being India’s fastest growing beer brand, Tuesday announced partnerships with five Indian Premier League franchises ahead of the new season. 

Serving as the Official Partner for Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad this season, Bira 91 is set to bring a "fresh and innovative approach to fan engagement" for India’s biggest annual sporting spectacle.

MUMBAI: One of the two new franchises in the Indian Premier League has been given a name. Lucknow Super Giants was unveiled Monday as the name for the IPL team bought by the RP Sanjiv Goenka Group for a record sum of Rs 7090 crore ($940 million approx.) in October last year. Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka said the name for his franchise had been finalised based on a crowd-sourced campaign.

MUMBAI: The IPL Player Registration closed on January 20th 2022. Total of 1,214 players (896 Indian and 318 overseas players) have signed up to be part of the IPL 2022 Player Auction. The two-day Mega Auction will see 10 Teams bidding for some of the finest talents in world cricket.  The players list incorporates 270 capped, 903 uncapped and 41 Associate players.

MUMBAI: CVC Capital Partners, owner of the new Indian Premier League franchise based out of Ahmedabad, has reportedly hired an agency to suggest a suitable name for the team ahead of the 2022 edition of the IPL. Vector agency has been mandated to choose a name based on the "heritage of Gujarat", Cricbuzz reports.

MUMBAI: Fintech firm slice, which terms itself India's leading credit card challenger, Thursday announced a three-year partnership as principal sponsor of Reliance Industries Ltd-owned Indian Premier League franchise Mumbai Indians.  Financial terms were not disclosed.

MUMBAI: With India’s Covid-19 curve showing an alarming upswing, the BCCI has reportedly put in place a contingency plan of moving the upcoming Season 15 of the newly expanded 10-team Indian Premier League to South Africa, which had once hosted the IPL in 2009.  The BCCI is also exploring the Sri Lanka option as it puts on paper its pandemic-time Plan B, Indian Express reports.

MUMBAI: The Tata Group is set to replace Vivo as Indian Premier League title sponsor for the remaining two years that the Chinese mobile major has left on its five-year agreement with the BCCI.  “Yes, Tata group is coming in as IPL title sponsor," IPL chairman Brijesh Patel confirmed to PTI after the governing council meeting Tuesday.

MUMBAI: The country-wide surge of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus has reportedly got the BCCI working on Plan B to host the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League entirely in Mumbai. The start of the IPL could also be advanced by a week.
