Invitation To Tender

NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation Friday issued an invite to accept bids for new clubs to join the Hero I-League from the 2023-24 season onwards.

Under the Vision 2047 plan unveiled by the AIFF earlier this year, the federation plans to increase the number of teams in the I-League in a triple-tier system in order to provide opportunities to aspiring clubs and/or investors from various socio-economic backdrops.

MUMBAI: Talk about leaving it till the very end. Literally on the last day as it were, Google parent Alphabet reportedly purchased the Invitation To Tender (ITT) document for the media rights of the Indian Premier League (IPL).  The ITT was available for purchase till May 10. Google owns streaming and video platform YouTube and joins a handful of parties that have reportedly picked up the IPL ITT.

MUMBAI: Now here's a reported development that comes straight out of "left field" as it were. While the "expected suspects" have reportedly bought the Invitation-To-Tender (ITT) bid document for world cricket's biggest media rights property, recently released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, there is a new name that has been added to the prospective list. And it is is as big as they come.

SO FINALLY, AFTER FIVE MONTHS OF DELAYS, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has released the Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the media rights to world cricket's most valuable property for its next five-year cycle – 2023-2027. For the record, the BCCI released the tender for the Indian Premier League media rights on Tuesday, March 29.

MUMBAI: And... All bets are on the two new Indian Premier League franchises being based out of Ahmedabad and Lucknow respectively. Surprise? Not at all. But this "revelation" was provided to NDTV on Friday by sources close to the bidding-process. Fact is, the only real surprise for most in the industry will be if the two new teams are NOT based out of these two cities.

The Glazer family, which owns English Premier League giants Manchester United, have reportedly picked up the Invitation To Tender (ITT) document floated recently by the Indian cricket board.
