BENGALURU: Karnataka’s minister of Youth Empowerment and Sports, KC Narayana Gowda, announced on Thursday that Sree Kanteerava Stadium, home turf of Hero Indian Super League franchise Bengaluru FC since the club's inception, will henceforth not be used for football.

NEW DELHI: Karnataka will be the host state of the second Khelo India University Games (KIUG), scheduled to be held later this year. The announcement was made on Sunday by the state's chief minister BS Yediyurappa and Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju. The games will be held in Bengaluru's Jain University and other venues in the state, in partnership with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

BENGALURU: Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah, at a meeting held on Wednesday evening, granted the licence to the Bangalore Turf Club to conduct on-course and off-course betting activities with immediate effect, The Hindu reports. The club will conduct off-course betting on Mysore’s Friday races and on the first day of the Bangalore winter races on Saturday.
