NEW DELHI: A sports-focused survey by PUMA India and Nielsen Sports indicate there is a huge lag in inspiration in the country to pursue physical fitness, even as India is witnessing a growth in the adoption of sports culture. 

The study was conducted to deep dive into the nation’s perception and extent of participation in sports and fitness activities among adults and kids in the country.

MUMBAI: The fallout from global industry data major Nielsen's announcement earlier this week of plans to “exit several smaller, underperforming markets and non-core businesses” has had an immediate negative impact in the Asia Pacific region with the closure of the India and Singapore offices of Nielsen Sports. In a related development, the South Africa office of Nielsen Sports has also got the chop.
