BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Sports Minister Chandra Sarathi Behera and International Hockey Federation (FIH) President Narinder Batra announced Wednesday that the capital city is set to host one of the three Hockey Series Finals to be held from 6-16 June 2019. The Hockey Series is open to national teams that are not playing in the Hockey Pro League.

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik Wednesday released commemorative postage stamps on the ongoing Men's Hockey World Cup in the city, Press Trust of India reports.
"I would like to thank the Postal Department for producing beautiful stamps at the time of the Hockey World Cup," Patnaik was quoted as saying to PTI.

BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha government on Monday announced in a press release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) that all educational institutions and government offices in the state will remain closed for the opening ceremony of the Odisha Men's Hockey World Cup today after 1.30 pm.
The inaugural event will be held Tuesday evening with the likes of AR Rahman, Shahrukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit set to perform.

BHUBANESWAR: Frenzied promotional activity and the presence of celebrities have resulted in the tickets for the opening ceremony of the men's hockey World Cup being sold out within hours of ticket sales going online on Tuesday.
The opening ceremony will be held at the Kalinga Stadium in the city on 27 November followed by the World Cup Celebrations program the next day at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.
